Who’s going to be in Wisconsin’s backfield for this week’s massive game against Michigan State?

That’s the million dollar question.

On Monday, ESPN senior staff writer Jesse Temple tweeted that the Badgers have some serious questions at running back heading into this weekend. Three running backs have been listed as questionable, leaving Dare Ogunbowale as the only healthy Badger in the rotation.

Corey Clement and Taiwan Deal are listed as questionable with leg injuries while Bradrick Shaw’s available is uncertain due to a shoulder injury.

Clement is the Badgers’ top back, but was taken off the field after sustaining an ankle injury against Akron. Last week, he didn’t see the field at all. Both Deal and Shaw played against Georgia State but didn’t finish the contest.

Wisconsin’s struggle to keep a running back healthy kept them in a nail-biter against the Panthers, squeaking out of Madison with a 23-17 win. If Ogunbowale is the only available ball-carrier, the offense could again be in trouble.

Ogunbowale finished last week’s game as the top rusher for the Badgers, gaining 65 yards and a TD on 20 carries. The senior has 127 yards on 33 carries for the season.
