Ohio State took a 32-25 halftime lead over Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.
The Buckeyes and Badgers entered this game neck-and-neck in the Big Ten standings, with Wisconsin holding just a 1.5 game lead.
It’s their first and only meeting of the season, and it’s an opportunity for both teams to get another signature win on their NCAA tournament résumés.
It was a team effort for OSU in the first half, as Seth Towns led the way with eight points off the bench. EJ Liddell was the only other Buckeye to score more than five points, and he had seven.
Ohio State shot 46.4 percent from the field in the first half, but struggled from beyond the arc. The Buckeyes made just 2-of-8 3-point attempts.
However, Wisconsin was worse in both areas. The Badgers shot 33.3 percent from the field and just 20 percent (3-of-15) from 3-point range.
Ohio State also won the rebounding battle in the first half, 19-16.
