A former Iowa quarterback is expected to take a job in the SEC.

Matt Zenitz of AL.com is reporting that David Raih is expected to be the next offensive coordinator at Vanderbilt. He has served as the Arizona Cardinals wide receivers coach for the past two seasons.

Vanderbilt is going through some staff changes this offseason, after Derek Mason was fired and Clark Lea was hired to be the next leader of the Commodores. This would be Raih’s first gig as an offensive coordinator.

Raih is a Minnesota native who played college football at Iowa from 1999-2002. His career was hindered by injuries while he was with the Hawkeyes.

Raih has spent most of his coaching career in the NFL. Before taking the job with the Cardinals, he was with the Green Bay Packers from 2014-18 in multiple roles. He was a coaching administrator from 2014-15, an assistant offensive line coach in 2016, an offensive perimeter in 2017 and wide receivers coach in 2018.

Prior to taking jobs in the NFL, Raih was a coaching intern at UCLA from 2008-09, a graduate assistant at Iowa from 2010-12 and assistant quarterbacks and outside wide receivers coach at Texas Tech in 2013.

Vanderbilt finished the 2020 season with an 0-9.
