Now that the college football season has come to a conclusion, it’s time for some of the game’s brightest stars to start turning their attention to the 2021 NFL Draft.

This week, Sporting News released its updated version of the 1st round mock draft for the upcoming event. Plenty of B1G names were included on this list, with seven players from the league included.

Two players from Ohio State, two from Michigan and one from Penn State, Northwestern and Minnesota rounded out the B1G’s representation on the list. Three of those players — Ohio State QB Justin Fields, Penn State LB Micah Parsons and Michigan DE Kwity Paye — were listed as Top 10 selections.

Here’s a look at where Sporting News believes those seven B1G players are heading:

  • No. 4: Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State (Atlanta Falcons)
  • No. 7: Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State (Detroit Lions)
  • No. 9: Kwity Paye, DE, Michigan (Denver Broncos)
  • No. 20: Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern (Chicago Bears)
  • No. 21: Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan (Indianapolis Colts)
  • No. 25: Rashod Bateman, WR, Minnesota (Jacksonville Jaguars)
  • No. 30: Wyatt Davis, OG, Ohio State (Buffalo Bills)

A few names that have been included on other mock drafts but were not mentioned by Sporting News:

  • Rondale Moore, WR, Purdue
  • Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State
  • Shaun Wade, CB, Ohio State

Obviously, there’s still a lot of time between now and the 2021 NFL Draft and plenty can change. It’ll be interesting to see how accurate this list is in a few months.
