One of the nation’s top undecided players in the 2021 recruiting class has set a commitment date.
247Sports is reporting that 4-star cornerback and Omaha native Avante Dickerson will make his final announcement at 8:10 a.m. ET on Feb. 3, which is National Signing Day. It will be part of the 247Sports National Signing Day Show.
Dickerson is deciding between Nebraska, Minnesota and Oregon. He had been committed to play for P.J. Fleck and the Golden Gophers, but recently decommitted to reconsider his options.
Per 247Sports, Dickerson ranks as the No. 8 cornerback in the 2021 class and is the No. 123 player of the cycle, regardless of position. He’s the top overall prospect from Nebraska.
Dickerson had a tremendous senior season at the high school level. He totaled 583 receiving yards, 303 rushing yards and accounted for 15 total touchdowns on the season offensively. On the defensive side of the football, he was credited with 19 tackles, 4 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries.
Nebraska currently has 20 players committed in the 2021 class and ranks 5th in the B1G and 20th nationally. Minnesota has commitments from 18 players and has the B1G’s No. 8 class while sitting No. 35 in the country.
