Nebraska great Lavonte David talks opportunity to play in Super Bowl with fellow former Huskers Ndamukong Suh, Khalil Davis

Lavonte David, Ndamukong Suh and Khalil Davis share a unique bond. The three are all former Nebraska defensive players who never got the opportunity to play with each other during their college careers.

This weekend, though, they’ll all be on the same sideline with an opportunity to sit atop the football world.

David, Suh and Davis are all suiting up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend, as they prepare to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV. Although they missed out on playing together in Lincoln, holding up the Lombardi Trophy together would be pretty cool.

On Monday, David spoke about sharing a locker room with two former Huskers and what it will be like to compete for a Super Bowl with a few other Nebraska standouts. He’s excited about the opportunity.

It’ll certainly be a fun experience for all three former Huskers, and you know the entire state of Nebraska will be pulling for the trio to earn a Super Bowl victory.

Tampa Bay reached the Super Bowl by defeating Washington, New Orleans and Green Bay. The Bucs ended the regular season with an 11-5 record with one of those losses coming to the Chiefs in a fun 27-24 decision.

Sunday’s Super Bowl is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff with the game airing on CBS.
