Nebraska head coach Scott Frost has reportedly made a decision on who will be the next director of player development for the program. He’s dipping into his UCF connections to make the hire.
FootballScoop is reporting that Marcus Castro-Walker is expected to be named the next director of player development at Nebraska. Frost and Castro-Walker worked together at UCF in the same roles.
Castro-Walker is currently the director of college personnel at Arizona State, where he works for head coach Herm Edwards. He has spent most of his career in college sports with the Sun Devils. He’s spent a total of six seasons at ASU, per his personal profile on the athletic department’s website.
No announcement has come from Nebraska or Castro-Walker at the time of the report.
The Huskers are coming off a 3-5 season in 2020, with win over Penn State, Purdue and Rutgers. Nebraska is scheduled to open up the 2021 season in Week 0 against Illinois.
