B1G recruiting: How every team’s 2021 class ranks following National Signing Day
Another recruiting cycle is (virtually) in the books with the coming and going of National Signing Day on Wednesday. While recruits will have a little more time to make their final decision this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, most prospects have already signed on the dotted line.
That paints a pretty good picture of how recruiting rankings look for the 2021 class. A lot of B1G teams should be happy with how they performed on the recruiting trail this cycle.
Ohio State was still head-and-shoulders above the rest of the league, finishing with the nation’s No. 2 class, behind only Alabama. The Buckeyes were eight spots higher than the B1G’s second-best team, Michigan, in the overall rankings.
Seven B1G teams ranked inside the Top 25 this season and 11 squads were in the Top 50 or higher. A pretty good year for the conference all around. Here’s a quick look at how the B1G rankings look with National Signing Day, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings (national rank):
- Ohio State (No. 2)
- Michigan (No. 10)
- Wisconsin (No. 15)
- Maryland (No. 19)
- Nebraska (No. 20)
- Penn State (No. 21)
- Iowa (No. 23)
- Minnesota (No. 37)
- Rutgers (No. 41)
- Michigan State (No. 43)
- Northwestern (No. 50)
- Indiana (No. 54)
- Purdue (No. 73)
- Illinois (No. 74)
