Faion Hicks is the owner of the tweet of the offseason.

Earlier this week, it was reported that Wisconsin defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard was in the running to be named the next defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers. On Saturday morning, Tom Oates of the Wisconsin State Journal reported that Leonhard turned down the opportunity and wanted to stay with the Badgers.

That was great news for Wisconsin’s defense. It was probably also cringeworthy for fans of 0ther teams in the B1G West. The Badgers have always been tough defensively under Leonhard’s guidance.

But when there was a larger possibility of Leonhard potentially leaving Madison for Green Bay, Hicks fired off a tweet that B1G fans everywhere can appreciate. The defensive back trolled Tennessee pretty hard, while also indicating that he wanted Leonhard to remain in Madison.

“Might have to go leave a McDonald’s bag in coach[‘s] office,” Hicks wrote on Twitter.

That tweet was a reference to Dan Patrick’s report that Tennessee was offering cash to recruits in McDonald’s bags during the Jeremy Pruitt era. Last month, Pruitt was fired for alleged NCAA recruiting violations that put the Volunteers football program under major scrutiny, and could lead to punishments or sanctions from the association.

Even if you’re not a fan of Leonhard sticking around Madison, you can appreciate the humor in Hicks’ tweet.
