On what would’ve been Chad Carr’s sixth birthday, coaches and players and alumni sent messages via social media remembering the grandson of a former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr.
Chad lost his battle against Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), tumors found in the base of the brain, on Nov. 23, 2015. He was just five years old.
1o months later, on DIPG Awareness Day, many sent thoughts through Twitter including the hashtags #Chadtough and #DIPG:

Chad was the grandson of Lloyd, who coached for 13 seasons at Michigan.
