Many wondered what Danny Clark would do after Tate Martell committed.

After all, Martell was the high-profile four-star quarterback that Urban Meyer targeted from the start. Clark, an Ohio native, had been committed to the Buckeyes for two-and-a-half years at the time of Martell’s commitment over the summer.

As it turns out, Clark won’t try and battle Martell as the quarterback of the future in Columbus.

Clark announced on Twitter that he withdrew his verbal pledge from the Buckeyes:

Clark is a three-star, pro-style quarterback. He’s the No. 18 pro-style quarterback and No. 17 prospect in Ohio in the 247sports composite rankings.

As he said in his note, he realizes that Urban Meyer doesn’t run a pro-style offense. Martell is the No. 2 dual-threat quarterback in the 2017 class.

Where will Clark end up? The 247sports crystal predicted that Kentucky or Indiana could be options for the 6-4, 220-pound signal-caller.

Ohio State’s first 2017 commitment, Clark announced his pledge to the Buckeyes back in his freshman season in 2013. Meyer since added a wealth of talent to that class. Ohio State currently has the No. 1 class in the 247sports rankings with six five-star recruits.
