Cael Sanderson hit a major career milestone as a college wrestling head coach.

On Sunday, Sanderson led Penn State to an 18-13 victory over Michigan on the mat. That victory marked Sanderson’s 200th as a head coach at the college level. He’s won 156 matches with the Nittany Lions and secured 44 victories when he was the leader at Iowa State.

Sanderson has been the head coach at Penn State for the past 12 seasons. He was at Iowa State for three years.

In B1G dual meets, Sanderson owns an 86-11-1 record and is closing in on capturing his 100th career dual meet victory over conference opponents.

With Sunday’s victory over Michigan, Penn State improved to 4-0 on the season, with all four victories coming against B1G foes. The Nittany Lions are scheduled to be back in action on Friday, Feb. 19 when they’ll take on Ohio State in a meeting that will air on Big Ten Network.
