There’s nothing quite like a halfcourt buzzer-beater!

Tuesday night’s game between Maryland and Nebraska has been a good one since the opening tip. Following Nebraska’s first B1G win of the season against Penn State, the Huskers are fighting hard and are eager to get another.

It was Teddy Allen, the hero of that win over Penn State, that led Nebraska with 10 points in the first half. Fortunately for the Terrapins, Maryland has been a bit better entering the break.

Jairus Hamilton poured in a game-high 11 points in the first half on 4-for-5 shooting, including three three-pointers to pace the Terps. However, it was Darryl Morsell’s buzzer-beater that stole the highlights.

Off a missed shot by Nebraska, Morsell grabbed the board and headed upcourt, getting just past midcourt at the buzzer. He heaved up a shot that was banked home cleanly, giving Maryland a 32-28 edge at halftime.

That went down as Morsell’s only bucket of the half on 1-for-4 shooting to go with four rebounds.
