A Penn State tight end is exploring his options outside of State College.

Zack Kuntz, a former 4-star tight end and a member of Penn State’s 2018 recruiting class has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. Rivals.com reported the news on Wednesday afternoon.

Kuntz will be a graduate transfer, meaning he’ll be immediately eligible at his next stop. He is a redshirt sophomore who will still have three seasons of eligibility remaining because of the NCAA’s blanket waiver for all fall student-athletes in 2020.

During his three-year career in Happy Valley, Kuntz appeared in 21 games, including all 13 during the 2019 season. He caught one pass during the 201 season for 8 yards and added two more receptions for 18 yards the following year. Kuntz did not make any catches during the 2020 season.

As a high school recruit, Kuntz was ranked as the No. 150 overall prospect in the 2018 class and was the No. 4 tight end. He’ll be a hot commodity in the NCAA transfer portal.

Penn State concluded the 2020 season with a 4-5 record.
