Former Rutgers star, current NY Jets CB donates 35,000 meals to those in need in Texas

Former Rutgers star and New York Jets cornerback Blessuan Austin is helping those in need in Texas.
Dealing with unprecedently bitter cold temperatures and snowfall over the past week, many in Texas have been left without power and water as the state continues to deal with the harsh weather. Austin is doing his best to provide some relief to those who need it most.
Per NFL agent Mike Swenson, Austin donated 35,000 meals to the Food Care Center in Killeen, Texas. According to the agent, that’s near where Austin’s sister is stationed with the United States Army.
“Many in that area & around TX are dealing with loss of power, water & other essentials during this winter storm,” Swenson wrote on Twitter.

Austin just completed his second year in the league. He was a sixth-round selection by the New York Jets in the 2019 NFL Draft. He’s totaled 88 tackles, 8 pass deflections and 2 forced fumbles during his time with the franchise.
While at Rutgers, Austin appeared in 25 career games and was credited with 89 stops, 18 pass break-ups, 4 interceptions, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
