If you follow CBS Sports college basketball reporter Jon Rothstein, you’ll see the same statement after every win Purdue’s basketball team collects: Death. Taxes. Matt Painter.

That was the case again Saturday night, as Purdue defeated Nebraska 75-58 in Lincoln to improve to 15-8 on the season and record its 10th B1G victory of the year. It marked the sixth time in seven season the Boilermakers have recorded a double-digit win total in conference play.

The only the Purdue hasn’t hit that total in the past seven seasons? Last year, falling one win shy of hitting 10 league victories and ending B1G play with a 9-11 record. The Boilers were 16-15 on the year.

According to a graphic on Big Ten Network during Saturday’s victory for Purdue, no team in the B1G has more conference victories since the 2016-17 season than Painter’s crew. The Boilermakers have totaled 64 wins (and counting) in conference play since that season.

Purdue currently has three games remaining on the schedule: at Penn State, vs. Wisconsin and vs. Indiana. A make-up date against Nebraska may also be added to the schedule in the future before the regular season comes to an end.
