February is coming to a close and that means the college basketball regular season is winding down. For B1G fans, it’s bittersweet.
The B1G season has been so interesting and the conference so stacked that the regular season has been incredibly fun to watch. But, March is always the best time of year for basketball fans and it’s going to be intriguing to see how the conference fares come tournament time.
All 14 teams were in action over the weekend, providing us with some incredibly entertaining matchups. No. 3 Michigan took down No. 4 Ohio State on the road, Maryland upset Rutgers and both Iowa and Wisconsin came away with victories on Sunday. Michigan State upset Indiana, Illinois cruised past Minnesota and Purdue downed Nebraska on Saturday.
With the latest results in from the previous week of action on the hardwood, let’s take a look at the B1G standings with only a few weeks remaining:
- No. 1: Michigan Wolverines — 11-1 (16-1)
- No. 2: Illinois Fighting Illini — 12-3 (16-5)
- No. 3: Ohio State Buckeyes — 12-5 (18-5)
- No. 4: Iowa Hawkeyes — 11-5 (17-6)

- No. 6: Wisconsin Badgers — 10-7 (16-8)
