It was only a matter of time.
Sunday, Iowa center Luka Garza officially rewrote the Hawkeye record books, becoming the program’s all-time leading scorer. He surpassed Roy Marble’s career mark of 2,116 points to take the top spot in the Iowa record book.
Garza posted another double-double on Sunday night, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in Iowa’s 74-68 win over Penn State. It was the 10th time this season the Hawkeye center has registered a double-double and the 16th time he’s scored at least 20 points in a game.
After Garza became etched his name in Hawkeye history, head football coach Kirk Ferentz congratulated the senior on his career achievement:

Garza still has four regular season games to improve on his scoring total and set the bar even higher at Iowa. The Hawkeyes have critical matchups against No. 3 Michigan, No. 4 Ohio State, Nebraska and No. 21 Wisconsin to close out the season.
Garza is considered a frontrunner for the B1G Player of the Year and National Player of the Year.
