Rece Davis will reportedly continue to be the face of ESPN’s College GameDay for at least a few more years.
The Associated Press reported on Monday that ESPN and Davis agreed to a multiyear contract extension that will keep the popular pregame show host in his position. The 2021 season will mark his seventh year as the host of College GameDay.
Per the report, the new contract will take Davis through his 10th season as the host of the show.
“I believe I have the best job in sports television, but when you’ve been doing anything for a while there comes a period of evaluation, I guess, to see whether there are things you would like to pursue,” Davis told the AP. “And for me I still very much wanted to host ‘College GameDay’ and to still have the opportunity to host some significant events along with that from time to time. Fortunately for me our place was able to provide all of those things.”
College GameDay is one of ESPN’s more popular shows during the football season. The crew of Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard and David Pollack has set the bar for college football pregame coverage.
