Ohio State will be back on the field later this month.

Tuesday, the program announced that it plans to begin spring practices on Friday, March 19. It will have 34 days to fit in 15 practice dates, the standard for every team in college football. Ohio State also plans to hold its annual spring game on Saturday, April 17.

It is still unclear what the details will be for Ohio State’s spring game, and whether or not fans will be permitted to attend. Last year, the Buckeyes canceled the spring game due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ohio State is coming off a 7-1 season in 2020, appearing in the national championship. The Buckeyes won their fourth straight B1G title and appeared in the College Football Playoff for a second consecutive season.

Ryan Day will be entering his third year as the permanent head coach in Columbus. He is 23-2 as the leader of Ohio State. Both losses have come in the College Football Playoff.
