Nebraska might be coming off a big win over Rutgers on Monday night, but Fred Hoiberg has no illusions about the challenge that lies ahead. On Thursday, the Huskers travel to Carver-Hawkeye Arena to take on No. 5 Iowa in a rivalry game.

It’s going to be one of the toughest games of the year for the Huskers.

Speaking with the media on Wednesday, Hoiberg made it clear that he knows just how good Iowa has been this season. He also knows the Huskers will have to play damn-near perfect to steal a win from the Hawkeyes.

“We could play great tomorrow and lose by 20,” Hoiberg said per Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald. “Iowa’s that good.”

Iowa is coming off a big win recently, as well. The Hawkeyes took down then-No. 4 Ohio State on Sunday 73-57. Nebraska scored an impressive 72-51 upset over Rutgers on Monday.

Nebraska and Iowa will meet just once this season, unless they play again in the B1G Tournament next week.
