Nebraska president expects ‘Full capacity stadiums’ for 2021 football season

The fan-less era of college football appears to be over.
Nebraska president Ted Carter said Wednesday that he expects “Full capacity stadiums” for the Huskers in 2021.

This is obviously welcome news after COVID-19 severely limited fan attendance at college football games and other sporting events in 2020 and in the early part of 2021.
But with vaccine production expected to ramp up over the next couple months, there should be plenty of time for college football fans to safely return to stadiums this fall.
The Huskers do play in a high profile nonconference game this season: at Oklahoma on Sept. 18. That game will mark the 50th anniversary of Nebraska’s win over the Sooners in 1971 — a contest dubbed as, “The game of the century.”
That will be Nebraska’s first game with Oklahoma since the 2010 Big 12 Championship Game. OU won 23-20, and the Huskers joined the Big Ten the following season.
Nebraska opens its 2021 season against Illinois on the road on August 28.
