Ohio State is getting set to finish the season with a top-10 clash against No. 4 Illinois, and head coach Chris Holtmann addressed the future plans of two key players Friday afternoon.
The players in question are CJ Walker and Kyle Young, both of which are in their senior seasons. Walker is in his fifth season of college after sitting out the 2018-19 season following his transfer from Florida State.
Normally, this year would be it for Walker and Young collegiately before moving onto the ranks of professional basketball. But due to COVID-19 and the blanket waiver handed out by the NCAA for this season, both players have the option to return for another year.
According to Colin Hass-Hill with 11 Warriors, Holtmann indicated Friday that Walker will turn pro after the season is up for Ohio State. When it comes to Young, Holtmann said the senior forward has not made any decision yet:
Chris Holtmann confirms CJ Walker will professionalize after this season, meaning he won't come back next season.
He leaves the door open for Kyle Young, though: "Kyle obviously will have the opportunity to return. I think he'll make a decision after the season."

Hopefully the two players can contribute to a deep March run before the season ends.
The Buckeyes have looked like one of the strongest teams in the country all season but are sliding a bit to finish the year. Holtmann’s squad has lost three straight, including games against top-10 opponents in Michigan and Iowa.
Saturday’s tipoff against Illinois is set for 4 pm EST on ESPN.
