Mike Conley came up just short of making his mark during the NBA’s All Star Weekend.

The former Buckeye finished one basket short of winning the NBA’s 3-point contest on Sunday night. His 27 points in the final round were best by Steph Curry, who made a 2-point money ball with his final shot to take the crown.

Here’s Curry’s final round:

The difference was the 3-point Mountain Dew spot on the wings — Curry made both of those shots in his final round, while Conley made just one.

Conley is an NBA All Star for the first time in his career. He was named an injury replacement for Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker earlier in the week.

In some ways, Conley is having a career year. He’s averaging 16.1 points per game and has been impactful on both sides of the court for the NBA-leading Utah Jazz.

Conley will be on Team LeBron for the All Star Game later on Sunday night.
