Indiana coach Archie Miller isn’t optimistic about Armaan Franklin’s chances of playing in the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday.

The sophomore guard hasn’t played since Feb. 24 due to an ankle injury.

“We aren’t counting on Armaan being available,” Miller told reporters on Wednesday.

Franklin has been an important part of the Hoosiers’ offense when healthy this season. He averaged 11.6 points per game while shooting 45 percent from 3-point range this season.

On the bright side for the Hoosiers, Race Thompson is expected to “give it a try” despite being banged up.

Thompson is averaging 9.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this season.

Indiana is set to play Rutgers in a must-win game for the Hoosiers. IU is currently on the wrong side of the bubble, and would need to pull off multiple upsets in Indianapolis in order to earn an NCAA Tournament bid.

The Hoosiers and Scarlet Knights play at 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.

Selection Sunday is on March 14.
