Illinois is off to a great start in the Big Ten Tournament.

The Illini hold a 47-28 lead over Rutgers after one half of play. Star guard Ayo Dosunmu has a game-high 14 points, plus three rebounds and two assists at the break.

Trent Frazier and Jacob Grandison both scored eight points in the first half. Kofi Cockburn is on pace for another double double, producing six points and eight rebounds in the opening stanza.

For Rutgers, Jacob Young and Ron Harper Jr. are leading the way with nine and seven points, respectively.

Illinois is in pursuit of a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Illini are currently projected to be a 1-seed — alongside Michigan — according to ESPN’s Joe Lunardi.

Selection Sunday is March 14.
