Illinois turned in an outstanding first half vs. Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals on Saturday afternoon.
The Illini hold a 45-37 lead at the break.
Kofi Cockburn was sensational in the first half, producing 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting. He also went 4-of-7 from the foul line and recorded four rebounds, one block and one assist.
Ayo Dosunmu was also a big part of Illinois’ success. He scored just six points in the first half, but he also tallied six assists and four rebounds.
For Iowa, the Hawkeyes were led by a three-headed attack of Luka Garza, Jordan Bohannon and Joe Wieskamp. Bohannon and Wieskamp both hit a trio of 3-pointers in the opening half. As a team, Iowa shot 46.2 percent from 3-point range.
The difference in the game so far has come on the offensive glass. Illinois holds a 10-2 advantage in second-chance points.
The winner of this game will face Ohio State in the Big Ten Tournament Championship Game on Sunday.
