Purdue releases incredible tribute video after Drew Brees announces NFL retirement

Everyone was expecting it, but Drew Brees made it official on Sunday afternoon. The New Orleans Saints quarterback has decided to retire from the NFL, marking the end of a incredible career.

Brees ends his career with 7,142 completions, 80,358 yards, 571 touchdown passes and a career completion rate of 67.7%. He was a two-time NFL Offensive Player of the Year, a 13-time Pro Bowl selection, a Super Bowl champion and Super Bowl MVP.

Before Brees was a star in New Orleans, though, he was a shining light at Purdue. He was a two-time B1G Offensive Player of the Year and rewrote the B1G’s record book in nearly every passing category during his time in West Lafayette.

He also guided the Boilermakers to a B1G title and Rose Bowl appearance during the 2000 season.

After Brees made his announcement, Purdue released an awesome tribute video, congratulating the quarterback on his epic career. Below is the video:
