Joe Bradshaw, a freshman wide receiver at Charleston Southern, has died at the age of 19. The school released a statement on his passing on Friday. Per CSU, Bradshaw passed away on Thursday night.

No cause of death was provided by the university, but it was reported that Bradshaw died off campus and that authorities “are still gathering information surrounding the circumstances of his death.”

“I could go on and on about Joe,” Charleston Southern head football coach Autry Denson said in a statement. “But what is most important is that we remember him for who he was.”

Bradshaw was a walk-on wide receiver for Charleston Southern and was a native of St. Augustine, Florida. He did not play in last week’s season opener against Kennesaw State as he was recovering from an offseason wrist surgery.

Charleston Southern competes at the FCS level of college football.
