Brad Davison is leaving it all on the floor tonight.
Wisconsin owns a 40-24 lead over North Carolina in the first half, with Davison being the difference in the contest thus far. The guard has 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting and has collected 4 rebounds. D’Mitrik Trice scored 10 points and Micah Potter added 7 off the bench for the Badgers.
The Badgers shot 14-of-31 from the floor and made 6-of-14 shots from behind the 3-point line. They also converted on 6-of-8 attempts from the free throw line and only had 2 turnovers in the first 20 minutes.
That’s a solid recipe for success.
North Carolina shot an abysmal 9-of-29 from the floor and had 6 turnovers.
Wisconsin is trying to end an ugly trend for the B1G in the first two nights of the NCAA Tournament. Both Michigan State and Ohio State lost their opening game matchups at Mackey Arena. The Spartans blew a double-digit lead to UCLA in the play-in game and the No. 2 seed Buckeyes dropped an overtime decision to No. 15 seed Oral Roberts.
The winner of the Wisconsin-North Carolina game will play Baylor in the Round of 32.
