Indiana starting guard becomes second Hoosier to hit transfer portal since Archie Miller’s firing

Another Indiana basketball player has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Zach Osterman of the Indianapolis Star is reporting that sophomore guard Armaan Franklin is exploring his options outside of Bloomington. He’s the second Hoosier to hit the portal since IU announced the firing of head coach Archie Miller after four seasons, joining Al Durham.
Franklin was Indiana’s second-leading scorer this season, averaging 11.4 points per game. He also contributed 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest and shot nearly 43% from the floor. He did miss five games because of injury during the year.

Franklin took a big leap from his freshman year to his sophomore campaign. During the 2019-20 season, the guard averaged 3.7 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game. He made major improvements in every aspect of his game and saw progress as a defensive player as well.
The Hoosiers finished the season with a 12-15 record, losing the final six games of the year. IU decided to make a change at head coach after Miller’s fourth season. The program did not reach the NCAA Tournament in that four-year window.
Both Franklin and Durham averaged over 11 points per game and both have entered their names in the NCAA transfer portal.
