Three B1G programs have been included in the Top 11 for 4-star defensive back Sherrod Covil Jr. The 2022 recruit released his list of top contenders on Friday via Twitter.
Maryland, Michigan and Penn State are the three conference schools that have landed in the Top 11 for the Virginia native. Also in the mix are Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Notre Dame, Oregon, USC, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Covil is listed as one of the Top 300 players in the 2022 recruiting class, per 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 251 overall prospect and the No. 16 safety for the cycle.
I give thanks to GOD for HIS mercies and unmerited favor towards me 🙏🏾

The 6-foot, 185-pound native of Virginia trimmed his list down to 11 after receiving 38 offers. Indiana and Michigan State were the two other B1G programs to extend an offer to the 4-star safety but did not make the cut.
All three B1G programs included in Covil’s mix currently own Top 20 recruiting classes with the 2022 cycle. Penn State is currently No. 6 nationally, with Michigan at No. 12 and Maryland at No. 19.
Covil would be a huge addition for any of the three programs.
