Former Ohio State University football player Kharim Stephens died on Saturday following a motorcycle accident outside of Columbus, according to a report from The Columbus Dispatch. He was 30 years old.
Stephens was reportedly driving a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle and was struck by a 2005 Toyota Scion turning left in a convenient store. The crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. and Stephens was transported to a nearby hospital.
According to the report, Stephens died from his injuries at 5:21 p.m. on Saturday.
The accident is still under investigation.
Stephens was a walk-on defensive tackle for Ohio State’s football team in 2012, Urban Meyer’s first season as the head coach of the Buckeyes. The team finished that year with a perfect 12-0 record.
