Speed won’t be a concern for Justin Fields.
It really wasn’t entering Ohio State’s pro day on Tuesday anyway, but the Buckeye quarterback posted an impressive time in the 40-yard dash just for good measure. His blazing speed has people talking.
Fields clocked an unofficial 4.44 in the 40-yard dash. One scout in attendance said he had the quarterback in at a 4.43 unofficially, as well. Believe it or not, Fields was hoping for an even better time, setting a goal of hitting the 4.3s for pro day.
Below is the clip of Fields running his 40 in Columbus:

That’s the kind of time you might expect to see from running backs, defensive backs or wide receivers. Rarely do you see a quarterback posting a time that fast in the 40-yard dash.
Fields was a nightmare for defenses at the college level for his versatility and dual-threat ability. He was capable of beating teams with his arm and his legs.
Now we have evidence as to why he was so dynamic in the college game.
