Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football team spent one of its days during the bye week drafting a new player into its family.
On Tuesday, Harbaugh, along with staff and other players held a “draft” press conference to welcome Larry Prout Jr., who was born with several chronic illnesses, to the Wolverines football team.
The decision was made last week to host the event for Prout and was covered by Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press:
Prout, 15, was born with spina bifida, choacal extrophy, massive omphalocele, short gut syndrome and several other illnesses. He has had more than 90 surgeries and many extended hospital stays.
This was a unique opportunity for Prout, who has been a life-long Michigan fan.
