Minnesota guard transfer Gabe Kalscheur is headed to Iowa State.

Kalscheur made that announcement on Saturday morning via Twitter:

This ends a three-year stint at Minnesota, where Kalscheur has been a pretty consistent performer. He averaged at least 9.2 points per game in every season with the Gophers.

His 3-point percentage took a dive down to 24.5 percent on 5.2 attempts per game this season. His career average is 34.5 percent, so expect that to return to normal with the Cyclones next season.

Iowa State is coming off a dreadful season in the Big 12. The Cyclones won just two games all year, and were shutout in conference games. They parted ways with head coach Steve Prohm and brought in T.J. Otzelberger from UNLV.

The Gophers are also going through some roster turnover after a disappointing 2020-21 campaign. New coach Ben Johnson has already brought in three transfers this offseason.

Kalscheur is a Minneapolis native and was a 3-star prospect in the class of 2018, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
