Illinois will allow fans to attend its upcoming spring game, the program announced on Monday morning.

The Illini say a “limited” number of fans will be permitted into the game on April 19, but did not specify an exact number.

The program also announced that Brad Underwood’s men’s basketball team will be honored at halftime of the spring game. The Illini won the Big Ten Tournament Championship this past season.

Tickets to the game are free and currently available to be reserved on Illinois’ website.

This will be Illinois’ first chance to see the team under new head coach Bret Bielema. He replaced Lovie Smith this offseason and has already made an impact in a number of areas.

Bielema shared his plans for the spring game over the weekend. He said the rules and format would not be adjusted by the coaching staff, so fans can expect a normal football game on Monday.

“The intention is to play a traditional Monday night football game,” he said. “The best against the best.”

Kick off is at 7 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
