Brian Lewerke got the start for Michigan State today. He didn’t last the full game.
After Mark Dantonio pulled Lewerke and inserted former starter Tyler O’Connor back under center, the senior quarterback delivered in a big way.
On his first possession, O’Connor launched a pass to R.J. Shelton for 59 yards and a TD. Down 33-17, it was a much needed shot in the arm for a stagnant Michigan State offense:
