“Something about a 150-pound boy from Pontiac,” Hamler said as Franklin read the inscription on the jersey.
Hamler turned in a solid rookie season in Denver. Despite not having a normal offseason due to the pandemic, Hamler still caught 30 passes for 381 yards and three touchdowns. One of those touchdowns was a game-winner at the buzzer to give the Broncos the edge over the Chargers.
The Broncos took Hamler in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Prior to that, he was excellent for two seasons at Penn State. His run with the Nittany Lions included 1,658 yards and 13 touchdowns over two seasons. Known as a speedster, he averaged 16.8 yards per catch in college.
