Report: Darrell Hazell fired as Purdue football coach

Purdue reportedly put an end to the headache that was the Darrell Hazell.
According to the Journal and Courier’s Nathan Baird, the Purdue coach was fired after a 49-35 loss to Iowa on Saturday:

Hazell was in his fourth year of a six-year deal. He was 9-33 overall and just 3-24 in B1G play during his three-and-a-half seasons in West Lafayette.
The news came on the heels of a loss in which Purdue allowed 365 rushing yards in a home loss to Iowa. Purdue is 3-3 on the season and 1-2 in B1G play.
Purdue athletic director Mike Bobinski was brought on board earlier in the year to replace Morgan Burke, who is retiring at the end of the 2016-17 school year.
Purdue receivers coach Gerard Parker will fill in as the team’s interim coach.
