This has gone too far.

A lot has been made about the draft status of Justin Fields. Some think he’s still the second-best quarterback in this year’s NFL Draft, while others believe he’ll be taken outside the Top 10 come Thursday night.

Fields listed outside the Top 10 seemed to be just about as ridiculous of a take as anyone could imagine. But NBC NFL analyst Chris Simms took it one step further. He has a ridiculously low projection for the former Ohio State star.

Simms recently released his projections for the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Where did Fields land? The No. 32 selection, taken by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Yes, apparently Simms believes that Fields will be the last player taken on the first day of the NFL Draft. Most other predictions list Fields as a Top 15 pick. Here’s the complete mock from Simms:

This take trumps pretty much any other that has been released regarding Fields. And it’s hard to image every other team with a first-round pick on Thursday will pass on the former Buckeye.

We’ll find out Thursday night.
