Tim Tebow is getting another shot at the NFL. His former head coach is the one providing the opportunity.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday afternoon that Tebow worked out for the Jacksonville Jaguars recently, when Urban Meyer is the new head coach. Tebow played for Meyer at the University of Florida from 2006-09.
Florida won two national championships during that time.
Update on a former first-round pick: Tim Tebow recently worked out for the #Jaguars, source said, and there has been at least some discussion of him signing. Oh, and he’s a tight end now.

But Tebow, who was a first-round selection in the 2010 NFL Draft, taken by the Denver Broncos at No. 25 overall, did not workout at quarterback. According to Rapoport, Tebow made a switch to tight end in an effort to get back into the league.
Tebow, who was considered one of the most successful college football players of all-time, had a short career in the NFL. He was with Denver from 2010-11 and then had a one-year stop with the New York Jets in 2012. He then made the practice squad for the New England Patriots in 2013 and Philadelphia Eagles in 2015.
Since his time in the NFL, Tebow has attempted to play professional baseball and has worked as a college football analyst for SEC Network. But 11 years after he was first drafter, the Heisman Trophy winner will get another opportunity to see if he has what it takes to play for the Jaguars.
