Michigan saw its fourth player selected in the 2021 NFL Draft late Friday night.

The San Francisco 49ers selected Ambry Thomas with the No. 102 overall pick in the draft. He was a late third-round selection, joining offensive lineman Jalen Mayfield and wide receiver Nico Collins, who were also taken in the round.

Like Collins, Thomas opted out of the 2020 season, deciding instead to focus on his future in the NFL. The result was landing with a team by the time Day 2 came to an end in Cleveland.

In three seasons at Michigan, Thomas appeared in 39 career games and made 13 starts. He was an All-B1G honorable mention following the 2019 season, finishing the year with 38 tackles, 7 pass break-ups, 3 interceptions, 3 tackles for loss and 2 fumble recoveries.

Thomas totaled 54 tackles, 9 pass break-ups, 5 fumble recoveries, 4 interceptions and a forced fumble during his three seasons in Ann Arbor. His most productive year, by far, was the 2019 season.

Now, Thomas will begin his NFL journey in San Francisco.
