A pair of Michigan players heard their names called in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Linebacker Cameron McGrone is headed to the AFC East. The New England Patriots selected McGrone in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, with the No. 177 overall pick.

Seven picks later, the Baltimore Ravens selected fullback Ben Mason with the No. 184 overall pick. Mason will move from one Harbaugh brother to another, joining John Harbaugh and the Ravens after playing for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan.

The 6-foot-1, 236-pound McGrone appeared in 19 games during his career at Michigan. McGrone was an All-B1G honoree in 2019. As a junior in 2020, McGrone amassed 26 tackles. McGrone arrived at Michigan ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 outside linebacker in the country.

Mason appeared in 45 games during his career at Michigan. Mason also played as a defensive tackle while at Michigan, and it will be interesting to see if that versatility is utilized in the NFL. Mason collected nine rushing touchdowns as a Wolverine.
