Ex-Ohio State WR announces transfer to SEC powerhouse

Jameson Williams’ final game at Ohio State came in the national championship against Alabama. Now, he’ll be suiting up for the Crimson Tide.
Monday morning, Williams announced on Twitter that he has committed to play at Alabama. He had been considering multiple schools after entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal — including Michigan and Michigan State — but will be headed to Tuscaloosa.

Williams was a 4-star member of Ohio State’s 2019 recruiting class, ranking as the No. 13 wide receiver and No. 82 overall prospect in the cycle. With a crowded receiver room in Columbus that features veterans Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson as well as youngsters like Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Julian Fleming, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, Williams might’ve had trouble seeing the field.
In two years at Ohio State, Williams totaled 15 catches for 266 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Williams had his best game of the season in the Buckeyes’ 49-28 victory over Clemson in the Sugar Bowl. He caught 3 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown in the College Football Playoff semifinal. In the final game against Alabama, he had 1 catch for 14 yards.
At Alabama, Williams will have three years of eligibility.
