Jason Garrett has made his decision official on social media by announcing that he will continue his career with NBC on Football Night in America and with Notre Dame football.

Garrett as well as Sacramento State’s Troy Taylor were among some of the final names for the Stanford head coaching position.

“Thanks so much to AD Bernard Muir and everyone at Stanford!” Garrett said on Twitter. “While I enjoyed exploring a great opportunity at such a special place, I’m so excited to continue my work at NBC on Football Night in America and with Notre Dame Football!”

Garrett coached the Dallas Cowboys’ from 2011-2019 with an 85-67 regular season record and went 2-3 in the playoffs. He was let go in 2019 after finishing the season 8-8 and would become the New York Giants’ offensive coordinator until he was let go in 2021.

The Stanford coaching job became open when David Shaw left in November despite being the winningest coach in the program’s history.
