11 B1G players named to USA Today Preseason All-America teams

The B1G may not be playing football this fall, but several stars have still been named to USA Today’s preseason All-America teams.

USA Today released its 2020 preseason All-America teams, naming players to the first- and second-teams. There were 11 B1G players who received recognition. Five players received first-team honors while an additional six were named second-teamers.

By team, Ohio State led the way with three selections. Iowa and Penn State each had two players on the list and Illinois, Minnesota, Purdue and Wisconsin each had one representative.

First Team Offense

  • OL: Wyatt Davis, Ohio State
  • OL: Cole Van Lanen, Wisconsin

First Team Defense

  • LB: Micah Parsons, Penn State
  • CB: Shaun Wade, Ohio State

First Team Special Teams

  • K: Keith Duncan, Iowa

Second Team Offense

  • QB: Justin Fields, Ohio Sate
  • WR: Rashod Bateman, Minnesota
  • TE: Pat Freiermuth, Penn State

Second Team Special Teams

  • P: Blake Hayes, Illinois
  • RET: Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Iowa
  • AP: Rondale Moore, Purdue
