For the B1G, it’s good to be back in action! And based on the television ratings from the conference’s opening weekend, plenty of fans are also happy about the return to football.

With the adjusted conference-only schedule, Week 1 provided the rare opportunity for marquee matchups in some of the season openers. That included Nebraska taking on Ohio State in Columbus and Minnesota facing off against Michigan.

Both games turned into blowouts on the field, but both games turned in big numbers in terms of television ratings. According to Sports Media Watch, the two contests turned in the two highest ratings marks of the weekend:

Nebraska-Ohio State and Michigan-Minnesota earned marks of 3.4 and 2.7, respectively. By comparison, the SEC rivalry between Tennessee and Alabama registered a 2.5.

Though those two B1G games occupied the top slots, Penn State-Indiana also drew solid numbers as one of the top games of the weekend. That contest checked in at No. 7 on the list of top-rated games to open the B1G slate.
