After the watch list for the 2021 Bob Cousy Award came out Monday, we were all rewarded with the watch list for the 2021 Jerry West Award Tuesday. The award goes to the best shooting guard in the country each season and this is the seventh season it’s being handed out.

There are two Big Ten players on the list this year and they are Joe Wieskamp from Iowa and Franz Wagner from Michigan.

Wieskamp had a great season for the Hawkeyes last year as he averaged 14 points per game and added just over six rebounds per game. He also shot 34.7% from three-point range last season.

Wagner had the first season of his college career this past season and he didn’t disappoint. He averaged 11.6 points per game and shot 45.2% from the field. He also shot 31.1% from three-point range during the season.

If one of these two players win the award, they would become the first Big Ten player to capture the award since Purdue’s Carsen Edwards. Edwards won the award back in 2018.
