2 B1G programs land on early list for 4-star safety out of Florida for class of 2024
The race for the 2023 recruiting class is in full swing, but life on the recruiting trail never sleeps. Some programs are already starting to separate themselves for the group of prospects that make up the 2024 recruiting class.
On Sunday, Jaylen Heyward – a 5-foot-11 and 180 lb. safety out of Rockledge High School in Florida – released his updated programs list. That group of 12 programs included Michigan and Ohio State out of the B1G alongside Miami (FL), Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Texas A&M, Georgia, Oregon, UCF, Tennessee and Florida.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Heyward is a 4-star prospect and the No. 5 safety nationally for the class of 2024. He is also a top-50 recruit (No. 47) nationally and the No. 14 overall player out of Florida.
It is still very early for the class of 2024 and both the Buckeyes and Wolverines have one player committed. Ohio State currently holds a pledge from 5-star QB Dylan Raiola while Michigan holds a pledge from 4-star LB Mason Curtis.
